We cannot hit loose, and we cannot greatly improve for hitting and pointing chances next turn. Time to look at the position of the back checkers. We are up a lot in the race, and don't want to see our back checkers become stuck after White anchors. So we like to move the back checkers up while White is on the bar, and need to pay attention how numbers play. In particular, we like to avoid a situation where both back checkers are blocked on the same number (here: 4). 21/20 or 21/18 do not improve on this, so I would start with 18/15. After that, 21/20 would create doubly blocked numbers and would block the back checkers on 6s, so that is out. Of the remaining aces, 11/10 seems to create the most ways to hit loose on the 3 (30 vs 28 for 5/4 or 8/7), do that would be my choice.
And when I typed this up I was wondering whether it would also make sense to look at numbers that could be used to move a back checker past one or more opponent points - but I never did that before. Homework for later.
