Stick Is Very Good For Backgammon

I agree with Fay on all counts. Stick can be rude, brash and arrogant (and proud of it), but he undeniably knows an awful lot about the game. Fay told me a year ago that Stick has 17 computers in his home, rolling out positions night and day. Very few people, if any, have ever studied and worked at learning backgammon as extensively as Stick has. He is young, he is bright, he has a good memory, and he spends more time studying backgammon than any univerisity girl ever spent studying for her classes. Little wonder that he has become either the best BG player or else awful damn close to the best!

If I played as well as Stick, I would be a helluva lot more arrogant than he is.

Everyone who wants to improve his backgammon game should get Stick's backgammon online videos at $20 apiece. They are excellent! I was staying at the home of my student a few weeks ago and I saw three of them. I encourage Stick to make more of these. Watching these videos, you have to be impressed with fact that Stick might know something about backgammon.

A few years ago when Stick was relatively unknown, he played Falafel in an early round in Monte Carlo. Stick was brash enough to suggest they bet on the Snowie error rate, and Stick won the bet. Stick also won a similar PR bet against Falafel in Chicago in May 2011.

Stick has done the backgammon community a big favor by providing this forum. It takes a lot of time and a lot of work, but the benefits to all of us are enormous. Ten years ago, there was a virtual monopoly of the backgammon media by Carol and Bill. The little guy with something to say had no way to get his message out. Now, anyone and everyone can have his say, and all of us are much better off as a result.
