I don't know if ppl aren't responding because they don't find they're interesting (too simple) or they're scared to make the huge blunders that were made 13 years ago pre bot era. Either way I'm going to continue to post them and you can't stop me because.........it's my site :)
To read Jeremy & Kit's take on these plays at the time visit: Annotation
Breakdown: OTB they overestimated the difficulty of unlodging 3 men off the acepoint and underestimated the value of keeping your opponent from making a high anchor. Also, when you have 3 men back what's another!?
The score (after 0 games) is: Jeremy 0, Kit 0 (match to 9 points)
Jeremy 179
Kit 160 Position ID: 4HPMASLgc/AAWA Match ID: MIEoAQAAAAAA
• Jeremey moves bar/22
# Ply Move Equity 1 4 bar/24 6/4* -0.3519 0.4267 0.1095 0.0040 - 0.5733 0.1976 0.0163 • 2 4 bar/22 -0.4058 ( -0.0539) 0.4057 0.0973 0.0027 - 0.5943 0.1794 0.0107
Breakdown: Simply too expensive to hop out and get hit on the bar, the next point Jeremy would love to make to hem Kit in.
The score (after 0 games) is: Jeremy 0, Kit 0 (match to 9 points)
Jeremy 158
Kit 136 Position ID: bJtgEDKwz4MDQA Match ID: cAk1AQAAAAAA
• Kit moves bar/18
# Ply Move Equity 1 4 bar/23 13/8 +0.0702 0.5174 0.1724 0.0130 - 0.4826 0.1628 0.0045 2 4 bar/23 8/3* -0.0400 ( -0.1102) 0.4887 0.1934 0.0206 - 0.5113 0.2043 0.0088 • ?? 4 bar/18 -0.0535 ( -0.1237) 0.4992 0.1334 0.0091 - 0.5008 0.1707 0.0043
Breakdown: Why not take the double anchor? At least for the moment ... let Kit play, see how awkward he gets, give up your midpoint if you have to. Coming out is too loosey goosey.
The score (after 0 games) is: Jeremy 0, Kit 0 (match to 9 points)
Jeremy 165
Kit 121 Position ID: cJ+DBwBsGzCBJQ Match ID: MAExAQAAAAAA
• Jeremy moves 22/18 15/13
# Ply Move Equity 1 4 24/22 15/11 -0.5462 0.3493 0.0520 0.0005 - 0.6507 0.1185 0.0021 • 2 4 22/18 15/13 -0.6253 ( -0.0791) 0.3465 0.0641 0.0010 - 0.6535 0.1634 0.0049
Breakdown: I don't think saving the immediate spare for an untimely 61 trumps the longterm gain of not burying checkers behind the anchor. 13/5, though only a small error, seems much more natural to me.
The score (after 0 games) is: Jeremy 0, Kit 0 (match to 9 points)
Jeremy 134
