Sure, you can try that. That's why I said I could imagine something like an 80% success rate. But there's this little matter that backgammon isn't touch-move. You could have a still photo of a potential move that the player then rejected. Or a still photo of half the player's move.

The dice may not be as easily readable as the checker position. It won't always be possible to infer the dice roll even if you see the before and after positions.
