Somebody could write a book on when to play 24/18 13/8 with a 3rd roll 65 !

Somebody will. And it might not even be Nack. (Come to think of it, why don't you write said book? I would, but no one would listen.)

After 31P 41S 65, I prefer splitting. Here, I don't think splitting gains as much, but it's probably still right. At least it's what I play, which doesn't necessarily mean it's right.
