Everything below is taken from the first chapter. 39 pages of 267, there is plenty more. What's in italics is the summary summazied (cute, I know). It's not even that so many of the plays are wrong, it's how painful some of the explanations of the wrong plays are. I left out the position where he missed the pipcount by 10 pips, didn't they have editors back in the day? I also didn't include any Snowie/GNU analysis, see if you're as abhorred as I was.

After your opponent has opened with 61, a 41 should be played the same way as on the opening roll: 13/9 6/5 ...

Black should hit twice, 8/2*/1* ...
The moral: when your opponent starts out with a good roll like 31 or 42, it becomes more important for you to catch up in the race for inner points by aggressively slotting

Black should try to build on his current small advantage with the much better play 15/9 13/10!
More - when your opponent has no board in the opening, overplay the position

In second place is bar/22 24/18. Black tries to establish the opposing bar point with this play, but rarely succeeds, since he is vulnerable to so many double hit numbers

Nothing fancy here. Just play bar/24, 13/11... bar/22 is weak...slotting too risky
