Position 1 should be an easy take. If Blue hits then he'll usually lose his market because of White's outfield blots so I'd double. By the way, I don't understand the caption, since the cube is still in the center.

The obvious play in Position 2 is 22/16 13/12. QF suggests that it's wrong, but I don't see another play that I prefer. White's position is too strong to allow the hit. Breaking our board with 22/16 3/2 doesn't seem right either. Maybe 13/6?
