However, a lot of other scenarios don't give you that freedom. Especially various Swiss formats, where you have to wrap up all matches in one round, before you plan the next depending on results. But also when calculating match lengths in more tight tournaments (single day tournaments, etc.)
But we're talking about MC specifically. Not some random tournament with different details.
Single day tournaments usually don't have 25pt matches ;)
I'm not saying that every tournament should have 3-set or 5-set matches.
This would be ridiculous in 'tight tournaments' which currently have 11pt matches (or shorter). I would rather play/watch 1x11pt, than 3x5pt or 5x3pt, of course. But in MC, where is plenty of time in the schedule and where match lengths are (very) long, more-set matches *might* be a better solution.
I understand that you find 7pt matches very short so you don't like 5x7pt format.
But 11pt matches are 'normal' for many other tournaments (some even have 1x9pt in the main) where you can see high cubes and some lopsided scores. 3x11pt format, instead of 1x25pt, should keep those things that you like in 25pt matches and bring some new interesting stuff, both for players and spectators.
