Well, you know the entry fees and number of participants, so you know gross revenues. Make some intelligent assumptions about costs of the venue, staff time & costs before, during and after the tournament, food & lodging expenses, cost of materials, cost of gala dinner, and you can figure out that not much profit was made.

Probably you need to subsidize it as organizer by providing own time for a very low or zero charge, so negative profits if you take cost of your own time into account at normal costs. Maybe some tourney organizers can comment, but this would be my guess and I don't think it is any better for other tournaments than MC.
