So the leader's gammon value on a 2-cube is 18/42 or 0.43, which is reduced.

I thought it was decided that the actual money gammon value is 0.43? I would agree with the original statement, it's pretty unusual. I would expect the correct action v. a human opponent here to perhaps be ND playing on for a roll. Next roll I'd cube if I didn't roll a five and still expect to be dropped. You could of course take the .050 drop now but I don't think that's close to best in real play.
