I agree. After the roll we are up by a lot, so White will want to prime us. We will want to escape our last back checker, and when we try we will likely get hit or pointed on, and then we may dance for a bit. Having a 6 prime comes in handy in these variations, and 13/3 13/8(2) is the quickest way to get it.
By contrast, 13/3(2) relies almost solely on the ability to hit back and get a dance after being hit, and gives up on the 6 prime. 13/8(4) provides a better prime than 13/3(2) because White would not be anchored at the edge, but makes it difficult to extend, plus that we will have difficulties with playing non-escaping 6s.
13/3 13/8(2) seems a good call.
