In Response To: Dealing with hyper-agressive players (Leonardo Jerkovic)

This question is much tougher to answer I think than the replies that have been given. This is assuming of course that when you say 'hyper aggressive' you also mean 'weaker' players. If that's the case, then it's an entirely different basket of eggs.

If you ask any world class player what type of player he'd like to play between two people who both play a fairly poor PR but one player is cube shy and conservative and the other is cube aggressive and overly blitzy, they'll take the former 8 days a week.

I think the fact it that these cubes and plays are dinged as 'wrong' by the bot but they may very well be correct. (or at least less wrong than the bot suggests) This is again working off the assumption that they're the clearly weaker player. Their gammon value is more than the bot thinks, their gammons lost aren't worth as much as the bot thinks, and they aren't as likely to face a 4 cube on the precise moment as the bot thinks. These factors are part of what I believe makes it so Player A can play a 3 and Player B can play an 8 and it doesn't seem like Player A wins as much as he should.

If two plays are relatively close and all other things being equal, you will see me anchor up for sure playing most people. When I say 'relatively close' it varies. It depends on how weak my opponent is and how much he likes to blitz. By anchoring we take away the jokers, slim down the gammons, and make the game in general last longer also allowing the other player to make more errors.
