I'm a simpleton. I see I am primed, up in the race, having the better board and with a chance to step up. So I step up with the deuce. Chances are that I will be knocked off the point but he may roll a deuce or a 6 and I may hit back.

After stepping up with the deuce the best ace appears to be 9/8. At DMP I might slot the 5 but not here when Gs count.

QF suggests that some other play may be much better. For instance making the bar.
