This is not a full explanation, but after bar/22, your most poorly placed checker is the checker on the 22pt. You have the stronger board with an anchor and more checkers back and a race deficit, so you can afford to boldly put your checkers where they want to go. 22/16 does the most to improve the position of your checkers. 13/7 is not a terrible play but even if you make the bar point, Black can hop out with 63 62 53 so it doesn't gain as much as you might think at first, and if you're hit, your gammon risk increases.

I think it would be an instructive variant to move one of Black's spares back to his 24pt, giving him an anchor there.
