I think you are misinformed here Miran. I talked to one of the directors from this year, he told me 2/12 was in use. He felt that it certainly shouldn't be tighter than this, maybe considering to ease it up just a tad - however, e also said, that with the full progressive consolations and other cups for people how get knocked out a few times, there's a big pressure for the main tournament to complete matches fast, otherwise the following "looser brackets" will hang seriously.

I'm sure that with the experience from this year, the structure and planning of matches will be discussed for next year, but many things has to fall in place (and people who have a say must agree). However, you could see a program that included two matches the first day (for those not getting a bye from the round of 256), and then putting match-lengths up to 25 points from the round of 64, playing only one round per day. Final could see even more play than today.
