Race or Prime?

Blue is ahead in the race, so strategically has a strong motive to run and not to play prime vs. prime. If Blue runs and gets away with it, it is very good - race advantages and 0 back vs 1 back, with a good priming structure. If blue runs and gets hit, the timing deficit will be reduced, so prime vs prime will become more viable (but of course prime building is delayed, so you are not happy with getting hit). If you make the bar and get hit, Blue loses a lot, and if Blue does not get hit, he has the better priming structure but that is in part compensated by the worse timing.
So you run out in the outfield. I believe this is often correct in the formative stages of a prime-vs-prime game in which you have a race lead.
