Cube Action Duo: Defender Has No Anchor

I'd double and take both of these. Blue's position is strong. Generally, White's split 24-20 no-anchor defense, I've learned, isn't nearly as good as it often seems, because White frequently has to decide whether to (a) make the 20 point, avoiding gammon but losing the race, or (b) remain unsplit, generating more shots but remaining vulnerable to a close-out, or being forced into a losing ace point game.

In the first position, we have a 115-124 pip lead, and White has a 4-point board but open 5 point. In the second position, White has a 5-prime but trails 133-115 in pips. So then, in both positions (a) We have the race lead (b) we have some blitzing, gammonish, market losing sequences (c) We have a rather safe position! I count only 7/36 rolls that blot against the 5-prime in the second position, and all of these (66 65 44 33 22) point on White; against the weaker prime, add 41 32 21 to the blotting rolls, but 32 21 also point on White and 41 hits twice. (d) A lot of rolls that don't do much play rather well for distribution, like 64 63 62 61 54 52 51 42 21, (e) the only number I see as weak in both positions is 43 (I'd play 13/6 in both), and in the second position also 41 32, which have to stack 13/8 since White's prime is too strong for a loose play.

White has a decent race in the first position, has a few immediate turnaround sequences, can hold the midpoint for a few rolls, and if not pointed on can often hold the 24-20 defense. Blue's position can certainly go bad -- most clearly to me (other than the obvious possible hits), if Blue brings the midpoint spare down on this turn, he has an immediate problem next roll with some of these rolls: 63 62 61 54 51 43 41 32, depending on where he's put his spares.
