I used to use tutor mode but I don't any more. I also turn off the pip count when I practice against the bot. And I always log the result even if it's a match where I'm irritated with my idiotic moves and where I scored a double-digit PR. I feel that all this helps keep me honest.

However, when I go through someone else's match, I don't bother going through the match twice. I do try to make up my own mind what my play is before looking at the OTB play and the bot's evaluation, but then I peek before moving on to the next play. I don't think I learn as much this way, but I regard reviewing others' matches as mostly entertainment rather than training.
