The position before White plays her 44 is shown in the left-hand position above. The position after she plays her 44 is in the right-hand position above. Her 8/4(2) 6/2(2) play is nactated A for Attack. By its areal definition, half of an "A" play is made from outer to inner board; the other half is played within the inner board.
For reference, the position after White instead plays N (Near) is shown in the right-hand position below. For N, half the play is made to (or within) the outer board, and the other half within the inner board.
