White will be up 13 pips after this roll. In a straight race for money, that's right at the point of last take. Here, there's still contact and the takepoint is lower (11/50 raw takepoint assuming auto recubes) or actually about the same since the recube vig is already included.

Which is to say that if blue simply runs and hopes to roll his way out of this, he'll have a take. Can he do better by maintaining more contact?

I think so. I'd play 13/9 8/5 hoping to build a board and then hoping for a shot.

Not sure it's better than running, but I'm also not sure white has a cube after this play. I'm sure she does after running.
