I agree with everything Neil said, except possibly for this:

1) Don't use 1 ply RO for ANYTHING...EVER.

2) Don't use any RO weaker than the selectable 2 ply play/3 ply Red cube..EVER

1-ply checker play is used internally by XGRoller+. It's true that if you have a reasonable computer, there's no really good reason to use weaker settings than the ones Neil suggested. However, I think the difference between the settings can be exaggerated. 1-ply isn't that bad, and XGR++ isn't perfect.
