White is XG Roller++

score: 1
pip: 141
15 point match
pip: 152
score: 6

Blue is BGO Readers
XGID=----B-CBBa-BdBa--d-e----B-:0:0:1:21:6:1:0:15:10
Blue to play 21

The hit is obvious, and then split with the 1. From the bar, White will have 54 and 56 to hit back, plus whatever numbers he chooses to hit with inside.

White has large stacks on his 6pt and 8pt. Because White needs to unstack, Blue should hesitate (if ever so briefly) before giving him an excuse to hit loose. But Blue is behind in the race, and sooner or later, he needs to engage White. This is a good opportunity to do that. By splitting, Blue adds rolls of 63 and 54 to the 64 that already hits White on his 11pt. On his roll, White will often enter and come down with a builder. Blue’s split will make that more dangerous.

The other possibility is L = Lift (11/9*/8). When one considers that Blue will be reluctant to break his 8pt in many variations, it becomes clear that he is not always sacrificing a builder by lifting. As well, there is merit is taking away White 54 joker. Nevertheless, the value of splitting is greater, and there won’t be a better time than now.

B (Both) = 11/9*, 24/23
