For whatever it's worth, no one ever contacted me to ask if I was coming, although I expressed interest to anyone who was listening. I never saw anyone involved withe the organization of the tournament (for example, at Monte Carlo, or any other venue). No one asked for players to declare interest (by email, facebook, bgo, deposits) outside of a request in the tournament flyer for players to wire the entry fees in full to a specific bank account. And, as far as I know, there were no satellites with a lower entry, either live or online.

Just things to consider when you are organizing an event like this and trying to generate interest.
