Pressure in Backgammon

1. Yes 2. Match pressure, Reputation pressure, Performance pressure, Community commitment pressure, Financial pressure, Acceptance pressure.
It exists in all areas of backgammon, to varying degrees. As a player, I have to play well to stay at my current level. I also have to both earn and protect my own playing reputation. I have to consistently perform well. The community needs more, I feel pressure in that arena. Financially, this can be a tough game for many people - myself included (dont expect to see me in a $50 chouette anytime soon, although maybe for a long heads up session..). Finally, as both a player and director in the community, both my 'hats' have to be accepted by the community.
I feel like a barrage of comments and questions will come my way following this. So, I will say this - each of the above affect me in varying ways, and some more than others. But pressure exists. Which is the greatest? I dont know.
