This is an excellent explanation. I think the main parts of it are the difference in the number of shots and the non-stripping of the 8, meaning that making the 4 point now will much more often result in a 5-prime after the next roll.

I am not sure how important it is that 6s (which cannot be used to make the 5) escape. They can be used to make the 3, so they seems to be duplicated.
