Pressure in Backgammon

In Response To: Pressure in Backgammon (Stick)

The reason I put this question to everyone is that I give lessons and I have a couple students who have told me they get nervous because they're playing Player X or it's an important match or ... etc... What did I tell them? I have no idea. I don't have the slightest idea what 'backgammon pressure' is. I feel zero pressure when I play backgammon. You roll dice (nothing anyone can choke doing) and move accordingly. I understand pressure in other sports, tennis for example. There you have to perform. Backgammon though?!? In tennis I suspect it still affects me far less than the normal person, I at least understand it. With backgammon, it has never existed for me so I can't help a student when they ask me what they should do to help overcome their nerves. I was looking to steal others' answers and use them for my own benefit =)
