Hypothetical for Steve Hast

Steve Hast: For all my formative years playing Chess WITH a clock, including speed chess matches as well, I found Backgammon refreshing NOT having clock usage.
I completely understand that. I hope you also acknowledge and understand that there is a large and growing contingent of players who feel quite the opposite.
In terms of attendance, there are two sets of players:
A: The set of players who would play in a clocked tournament but not an unclocked tournament. [That's me.]
B: The set of players who would play in an unclocked tournament but not a clocked tournament.
(There is another, larger set of people for whom clock policy does not affect attendance.)
So my question to you, Steve Hast: I think you believe that right now, set B is bigger than set A. What if you gain clear evidence in the future, that set A is bigger than set B? Will you (1) change your format, (2) keep your format, or (3) stop running backgammon tournaments?
No fair saying, "I won't answer because I don't believe that will ever happen." I submit this to you purely as a hypothetical. But I don't think you'll answer that way -- I believe you're open minded enough to give your honest appraisal of what you would do.
