Steve Hast: For all my formative years playing Chess WITH a clock, including speed chess matches as well, I found Backgammon refreshing NOT having clock usage.

Incidentally, I think your own preferences about playing with or without clocks are irrelevant for your tournament. You're not actually PLAYING in your tournament, are you?
