Are you saying that, due to White's low gammon rate here that ownership of the cube is not so valuable
I was saying was that ownership of the cube is not so valuable, yes. I wouldn't say that it's "due to White's low [cubeless] gammon rate"; rather, it's due to the nature of a holding game with a large race deficit.
I would have thought there would be value in owning the cube for racing purposes as well, if things turned around for White.
The cube is useful if it turns into a race, yes. The argument I was making was that the race deficit is large enough that this won't help White much.
Now, I said all that without looking at any bot information. Daniel's statistics from the GNU rollout suggest that White's racing vig is greater than I thought. That's my only explanation for how White can win 6% of the time with the cube on 4. So it seems that the raw takepoint does need to be adjusted downwards more than I thought, to take into account recube vig. I still suspect, though, that White's cube ownership in this position is less valuable than "average."
