online play for $

BGMasters is a cheat. I recently look at games over there and tried to contact support. All emails of support and departments are non existent, emails are returned back saying host could not be found. It is impossible to deposit via Moneybookers at least and I am sure the same could be said about withdrawing.

BGroom is a good option although the common opinion of being full with bots recently the site has picked traffic and is clear of bots. Promotion tournaments are run weekly and a monthly plus freerolls for them. In case someone is interested there is a bigger bonus than the one promoted on their website available at http://www.onlinebackgammonmoney.com/review/bgroom and there is also 30% rakeback offered at thanks to the same site. StarGames/Skill7 and their Greentube network is new in town with little bit higher rake compared to BGroom, no bots at all, good amount of traffic (actually higher than BGroom) and weak opponents. Accordingly to the same website there is a 50% up to 100Euro bonus that is easy to clear - http://www.onlinebackgammonmoney.com/review/stargames

Ladbrokes is also active but with low amount of players.

PAF, Bwin, Betfair, Unibet are also active with good tournaments but the highest rake of all mentioned sites.

So I would say online backgammon is still not dead. As long as Play65 pays out their customers they are just going to change room. And I think everybody hopes that GammonPower opens and becomes even better than Play65 was.
