Clearing the 6 leaves you odd-ended, while any other point creates a gap.
I don't think ripping off two is right here, but I cna't say I'll be totally surprised if it is.
Clearing the 6 leaves 66 64 64 55 and 54 to leave blots next roll. That's 8.
Clearing the 5 leaves 44, 61 and 51 to blot. That's 5.
Clearing the 4 leaves only 62 to blot. That's only 2.
Clearing the 3 leaves 63 to blot. That's also only 2 and it takes off a checker to boot. It also leaves an even number of checkers
Of course, immediate safety is not the only issue. Blue wants to clear the 5 and 6 points and then hopefully have white enter and get out of his hair. So while clearing the 3 or 4 is safer, it might make sense to clear the 5.
I'm going to opt to clear the 3 here. Fewer shots and it helps the race. If White had more numbers to sit on the 3 for awhile I might want to clear the 5 instead. If blue already had 3 off I might do something else.
