Hello,

Nice problem. My answer - 13/10(3), 6/3

To me the real choices are:

1) 13/10(3), 6/3 2) 13/7 (2)

For option 1) the attractions are obvious - there are no shots and no risk in the short term (all numbers are playable). However, there is a greater risk long term as you have to clear the 10 point. Blue is probably going to cube this next go and this is likely to be a double take.

For option 2) the attractions are less obvious - if he is missed, he will have a far easier time bringing the position home. I suspect if he is missed it will be a double/drop. If he is hit, he will still have plenty of counter play due to the blots on whites board.

To me, option 1) is the correct play. Option two is less attractive due to the cube position and the fact that blue has a two point board with a blot in.

There are some interesting variations where option two may (or may not) be correct: - White holding the cube - DMP - Blue has one less checker on the 8 point and the 3 point is made

If nobody else posts anything, I will try to post some XGR++ analysis & variations on Thursday or Friday evening.
