In Response To: Leading Federal Judge Rules That Poker Is a Game of Skill Not Covered by U.S. Gambling Act (Steve Mellen)

He is a federal judge so I am confused about how the state law is relevant. Was he saying that the federal law has precedence? If you have the patience to explain I would appreciate it, I seem to have little idea how the court system works.
