So, the idea would then be to finish second?

Reportedly, ten former teammates of Armstrong were prepared to testify to his doping -- I suspect, if it occurred, they were all involved. Thus, where are their lifetime bans? Or were they all offered immunity in exchange for their testimony? Which, in my opinion, negates the credibility of anything they might have said, makes one question their motivations, and brings serious doubts to their characters.

Maybe the whole thing is true and he doped. Maybe he didn't. But the entire episodic investigation over more than a decade smells of a witchhunt motivated by envy and jealousy. Further, there may well have been other issues in play.

I don't fault Armstrong for saying "enough is enough". It would have never ended.
