You can't compare a late game position like this to an early game position. As with most of the positions I highly recommend playing out, you get so much out of them because the game can usually only go a couple of directions. You come to understand the different ways the game can play out a lot quicker. I'm assuming this is a big reason why the variance is so low so quickly in these late game positions compared to earlier positions.

Tomorrow I will play this game out like 108 times and see if you get anything out of that and how it matches up with Daniel's GNU info.
