I am not totally convinced White is playing a backgame.
If Blue breaks his anchor to hit, and then White manages to hit a return, all it would take is one dance for White switch gears. Against Blue’s puny 3-point block, he could be playing forward in a flash.
That’s why I like making the 9pt. It creates a phantom 5-point block that leaves White only a direct 6 to jump over it. Consider what happens when White throws 52 or 55.
Could be fun.
