Tim, you are correct in questioning these things.

Maybe they haven't been discussed much (actually I addressed both points 1) and 2) in my last post), due to this:

Re. 1): Even though you are correct that Braconi is the "next" dot in the chart, his numbers are far from as suspect. Stick's live PR (reported) represents an increase of 102.5% from his online PR. Braconi's same is an increase of just 36,3%

Re. 2): Bills suggested solution (or test rather), address this very well: Instead of looking at recorded live data, where all sorts of adjustments or reasons to play imperfect might og might not have existed, he suggests Stick to play a clean set of 25 matches, in order to generate a set of data, where the objective is comparable to that online number we're examining. Furthermore, by allowing this set to be created from home, online, using a proctor, he goes to the maximum in setting up as similar an environment as possible.
