I think your 3-7 holding game is a lot stronger than normal since White doesn't have any outfield landing points and has those two checkers somewhat out of play on his 2-point. Because of this, the hitting plays are a little too risky. If White hits and you dance, it might be curtains for you. Better to start the 5-pt and put a valuable spare on the 18 so you'll be able to hit from there without giving up the point.

You're not ready to contain a hit checker so it's better to improve your position now so that a future hit will be more effective.
