Position form Pittsburgh Master Semi (Hellwag-Phipps)

I find this a confusing position due to the cube possibilities. Cubeless I would make the one and shift, but with the cube access that does not look good - upping the gammon rate while gammons are meaningless on a 2 cube. Then there is the aspect that we could put white on the bar to gain the tempo to break the mid, and on the other hand, we could let White play and compromise his position. Then there is the aspect how numbers play - as things stand, 55 is not so hot, if we shit to the 12, 44 is terrible for White.
I'd play 13/12(2) 2/1(2) but without much confidence. The spares on the 2 have nowhere to go but to the ace, and if we play 13/12(2) we have nice diversification in a way - combinations of 6s and 5s clearing, combinations of 4s and 3s pointing, combinations of 1s and 2s making the 5, some combinations of 4s, 3s with 2s and 1s pick and passing if white is still around.
We cube next. The cube looks fairly efficient, which is another plus for the play.
