understanding EPC..

In XG: Options, Settings, Mode then change display race to "Pips and EPC" (you'll have to put a checker in opponents homeboard as well for it to display the EPC).

As a default I believe it only handles positions where all checkers are from the sixpoint and in, but you can extend it in Analyze, Create Bearoff Database to go to the midpoint.
