In Response To: XGR+ Rollout (Stick)

OTB I was playing Adam Versaw and while he may be a bit rusty, he is very strong. I recall several years ago playing a match vs him that Snowie said I played 2.4 and Adam slightly outplayed me!

Anyhow..I want to do the right thing here with the cube.

My thoughts were..1) I am on roll and might hit. 2) My board is stronger than his. 3) I might make the bar pt with some missing rolls. 4) He might dance again and I could end up really losing my market. 5) It will suck if I dance buy that only happens 1/9 of the time.

Thus I cubed, believing it to be between a .85 and .90 take.

I rolled 51 and per XGR++ played it correctly with 13/8 rather than slightly overreaching with 6/1x. Adam danced and then I had no real choice but 8/1x with my 52 and he danced again and was gammoned easily.

After the match, Adam said that he had strong thoughts about passing this, which would've been a much bugger mistake than expected. Adam's postion isn't all that bad with the race close and with his 5 pt and spares. My 2 pt won't be so useful if he anchors.
