Steve Hast: Jason in answer to your last post...clocks vs no clocks makes a substantial difference to a tournament director...without clocks, either the director or his staff must constantly be vigil to matches that re running slow , to potentially put a clock on them to finish within the needed time frame.

Hmm, sounds to me like you're arguing that clocks make it easier for you as the director. So what's the hold up? Just admit that you hate clocks, and you're imposing your will on the player in your tournament. This has nothing to do with what the players want. If the players don't like clocks, you'll espouse that for the reason you're not using clocks. If the players want clocks, you'll simply say you don't want clocks, and you think it's a better experience.
