I've made my share of really bad plays in game 1 myself, both in person and online. It seems that sometimes my BG brain isn't woken up enough and nothing I can do beforehand helps, although I am suffering less from this than a couple years ago.

I was shocked when I saw how easy a take this is since it does seem conceivable to pass it, but the problem is that your opp can't do too much harm if he rolls a 5 or a 1 and that his main threat is to semi-blitz you since he has since ace pt made. Lots of the time you'll survive and have plenty of counterplay.
