Can someone explain this?

Some statistics to go with the explanations:
Play Hits Cracking Numbers 6/4* 5/4 14 13 (54 51 33 and big swing on 63 43 42 31 which enter without hitting and expose another blot) 6/5 6/4* 16 6 (33 43 22 and the only awful entering number, 63) Also, after 6/4* 5/4, your opponent rates to win about 60% with 23% gammons (cubeless), but doesn't quite have a cube. His many more bad numbers means that your exclusive cube possession would be quite powerful in this prime vs. prime position. ND = ~0.370 EMG, DT = ~0.330 EMG.
After 6/5 6/4*, your opponent rates to win about 65% with 27% gammons (cubeless) and has an easy double. ND = ~0.650 EMG, DT = ~0.750 EMG.
