Hand recording while on the clock

My guess is that the fear is that someone may have implemented some software that automatically parses the position and gives instant feedback on the correct play by consulting a bot. Or maybe it just sends the image to a confederate, who texts a reply. Phones can do almost anything nowadays.
Yeah, but here's the thing. If I'm going to cheat and I have an accomplice, I don't need a camera or a phone. I've got a tough cube decision. My accomplice walks by, takes a note of the position, casually wanders over to his laptop set up in the back, six rows away, puts it into XG, and the carefully choreographed signal with the casual left arm stretch tells me whether it's a take or a pass.
One of two things is true: Either (1) there's (almost?) no real cheating going on in ABT tournaments or (2) I'm super naive. I'd like to presume that (1) is true, in which case I'm leaving the paranoia at home.
