It depends I think. If all information would be from a single source, then what you say is not true.

E.g. if I develop something that as primary data source solely uses BGO, I would need your permission, also legally. If I use materials from BGO, Kit's site, Gammonvillage, and name a few others, then not (depending on how much additional work is done with the info).
