To my knowledge, he never admitted he cheated, however, I had played him a couple of matches on Snowie, live at tournaments, and he played over 10--I had to work hard to embarrass him into playing me at all, and of course, he was foolish to do so, since he had NEVER PLAYED over 5.5 in a recorded match on line with me, and we had played many.
After Paul Weaver and I came out publicly with our evidence and accused him, we offered him to play live and prove us wrong, and he never agreed. I even offered him money, with no risk, to prove us wrong, and he did not take up the challenge.
Part of the reason so many were sure of his guilt was that cheating on his skills turned out to be just one area where he had proved to be dishonest.
Note that he showed up at one of Ken Larsen's tournaments in North Carolina about a year ago and gave a fake name, and Ken would not allow him to play because of his reputation and his attempted deception.
About 6 months ago he sent me an email complimenting me on an article or something...don't remember, and he started writing me some other "friendly" emails about things I might do to promote backgammon. I sent him an email telling him to leave me alone, that I had no interest in being friendly with him not only because he was dishonest and a cheater, but because he had cheated me personally, because I brought him into my on-line chouette and he stole money from my friends, and because I had introduced him to some good friends who hired him to record matches and work with them....and I had vouched for him as a good guy....he had completely deceived me and lied all along. I took his dishonesty very personally, and that is why I made sure everyone knew of my evidence that he was a cheater and a liar.
