1) I'd try 10/3*. Blue has the better board and an anchor; the race is about even; 11 checkers in the zone. Blitz? Why not. I'm not seeing anything better.

2) I'll unstack by hitting loose and while I have tempo move up to the 18 point. 23/18 6/4*. White has no board and it's often correct to hit loose in these situations. Blue is slightly ahead in the race, so getting a checker out of there has to be worth something. With 4 covers for the blot blue is more likely to cover than white is to enter and hit.
