World Championships Final matches required

A large percentage of the top players in the world doesn't attend Monte Carlo anymore, it is not viewed as a mandatory tournament to attend. Only about 135 players in the top division this year. Particularly there are very few americans and danish players attending, as well as germans. These are the strongest backgammon nations.
