Swiss is an improvement, and also provides more play for money. It converges only slowly though. You could also do a PR or MWC-difference tournament, which would converge faster, or a mix. Or the formula for San Antonio. Or...

Knowing the feedback from players on new formats is a good thing. Measure and improve, repeat this cycle forever.
